Core focus: Bridging design intent with industrial reality. Turning complex visions into scalable products. Structuring value for ambitious manufacturing brands.
A scalable seating platform engineered for high-traffic contract environments. Designed to maximize configuration flexibility while minimizing production tooling costs.
Client: SNS Design & Furniture
Type: Full Contract Collection (Sofa, Lounge, Chairs, Tables)
Production: Tubular Steel Bending, Upholstery
Key Feature: Shared components & standard bending radii.
The Brief: Scalability vs. Identity
The hospitality market demands two conflicting things: distinct visual character for brands, and extreme durability for high-traffic use. The industrial challenge was to design a broad family of products (from bar stools to sofas) that shared a unified aesthetic DNA, without forcing the manufacturer to invest in dozens of different molds and jigs. We needed a “platform,” not just a collection.
We developed a standardized tubular steel frame that acts as the backbone for every piece in the collection. By rationalizing the bending radii across the entire range, we allowed the manufacturer to use shared tooling and welding jigs, significantly reducing CAPEX (Capital Expenditure). Crucially, we separated the structural frame from the soft upholstery. This Design for Disassembly approach allows for easy re-upholstering (extending product life in hotels) and creates endless CMF (Color, Material, Finish) possibilities without altering the production line.
Versatility: Adopted in diverse environments from boutique hotel lobbies to corporate lounges.
Maintenance: The modular upholstery system reduced maintenance costs for facility managers.
Efficiency: Achieved a high perceived value with optimized manufacturing costs.
